- Our Team
Meet Diogo, our new Account Executive. He recently relocated to Oslo from Copenhagen, and his background within sales and real estate in combination with a passion for technology is what drove him to Marketer. We are very happy to have him on board!
What did you do before joining Marketer?
Prior to joining Marketer, I was pursuing an MBA in Barcelona and lived there for three years in total. I have also lived in Lisbon, Portugal, and Rio de Janeiro, Brazil (where I am from). Relocating to Oslo has actually been an amazing experience so far. My wife, who enjoys all cross-cultural differences, has implanted in me a love of Scandinavia and the Nordics. I am really excited to experience the winter here, but every time I say that to Norwegian’s I usually get a lot of strange looks. In regards to work, I bring good experience within real estate from earlier, working with sales for both new build developers and realtor agencies.
What motivates you about sales?
Well, I believe that sales lead to self-awareness. For me, it is an opportunity to receive continuous feedback and thereby grow faster, as you are learning new aspects about yourself on a daily basis. This feels especially exciting in such a fast-paced tech company as Marketer. The entire organization is laser-focused on high-level priorities. The structured environment here allows me to work in a structured manner and deal with the ups and downs within sales with a positive approach, which results in a higher probability of succeeding in the end.
How do you work to motivate and develop yourself?
That's a simple question for me to answer - simply by working for a proptech company that is revolutionizing the real estate industry. A few years ago, I became aware of the tech disruption affecting the real estate industry, and as a result, I decided to take a break from work and change my career path which is why I got an MBA. Hence why I work here with a strong connection to my "why." It is highly motivating to see ideas becoming a reality and brought to the market, which also motivates me to connect what I am doing to the bigger picture.
How have the first weeks at Marketer been like?
It felt a little surreal because I moved to Oslo a lot quicker than I thought, and I was feeling quite timeless during the first days of work. The onboarding process has been so smooth, and I have definitely felt like a member of the team since the beginning with everyone being extremely friendly. It was also great to see how the founders are energizing all teams with an entrepreneurial spirit. The flat structure creates an environment open to new ideas, and a feeling that everyone is a part of a cohesive team.
